Unlike door strikes, the devices that keep armed doors firmly shut, door holders are essentially the opposite: Mechanical devices that hold doors open until instructed by the security system to change status. SImilar to how you might want to keep certain doors shut, you’ll also find yourself in situations in which you may need to keep an access point open. This comes in handy during times like open houses, visitor tours, and while switching the access of a conference room. Door holders automate this process, ensuring that doors stay open while you want them to and eliminating the need for someone to physically hold the door in place.
As soon as you want to restrict access again, simply instruct the system to disable the door holder. The door will shut gracefully and immediately, once again protecting the space or asset you wish to restrict without disrupting anything that might be happening inside or outside of the room.
