Two-Card Control in Access Systems

Some areas in your space will need little security. But others, especially those that contain sensitive information or expensive equipment, will need a bit more protection. To accomplish this, you can implement two-card control, which is a mode of operation that requires two separate cards to be swiped before a reader grants or denies access. While readers normally only need one cardholder to present credentials, requiring two ensures that more than one person is present in secure areas at all times.

For spaces like server rooms, two-card control is a way of making sure that no one can enter alone and steal or break the equipment that keeps your business running. The same logic applies to rooms where you store confidential records or even safes or money. You can also choose to enact two-card control for visitors, who shouldn’t be allowed in certain spaces without a trusted employee to escort them.
