When a member purchases a qualifying membership or package, Recess adds them to the appropriate Kisi access group. If a membership is cancelled, paused, refunded, or falls past the studio's grace period due to non-payment, access is automatically removed.

Members can unlock doors directly from the studio's branded Recess app, helping studios streamline operations, reduce manual administration, and support extended or 24/7 access without requiring front desk staff.

How the Recess + Kisi integration works

Recess connects membership management with Kisi access control to automate facility entry across one or multiple studio locations.

Studios connect their Kisi account by adding an API key and selecting which doors and access groups are linked to each location. Memberships and packages that grant gym access are mapped to the appropriate Kisi access groups, while location-specific permissions ensure members only receive access to the facilities covered by their membership.

Members unlock doors directly from the studio's branded Recess app without needing a separate Kisi invite email. Door schedules, payment-aware grace periods, and automatic synchronization help keep access aligned with each member's eligibility.
