Ferb

Automate access control for fitness and wellness studios using Ferb, a platform that brings bookings, memberships, payments and member apps together in one place. The Kisi and Ferb integration turns a member’s eligible membership, booking or access pass into access to the right doors at the right time. Studios manage access through the products and schedules they already use in Ferb, so they can offer self-service entry with less front-desk administration.

How the Ferb x Kisi integration works

Once a studio connects its Kisi organization in Ferb, access follows the products and schedules already set up in Ferb. As a member’s eligibility changes, through a new membership, a booked class, a day pass or an expired product, their access is updated automatically, so there are no manual permission changes to make.

Access is tied to the studio’s locations and opening hours. Members can enter through the studio’s Ferb-powered app, a browser link or an existing linked Kisi card or fob, and guests with a valid booking can open the door too. Staff get access by role at their locations, during opening hours or around the classes they teach. Every visit is recorded, and studios can optionally check members in to their class when they open the door.

Requirements

  • An active Ferb account (the Kisi integration is available to every Ferb customer)
  • Ferb owner or admin access to configure the integration
  • A Kisi organization with installed, online doors and controllers, plus an API key from the Kisi organization owner’s account
  • Location addresses selected through Ferb’s address lookup, used for proximity checks when opening doors through Ferb
  • For phone tap entry: the studio’s Ferb-powered member app and compatible Kisi readers (members using browser entry don’t need to install an app)
