SpaceBloom
Automate door access for shared-use spaces using SpaceBloom, a platform that runs memberships, billing and bookings for operators who rent space by the month or by the hour. Connected to Kisi, SpaceBloom decides who gets in: members get Kisi access when their contract starts and lose it when the contract ends. Built for commissary and shared kitchens first, plus coworking and other shared-use sites, it means no spreadsheets, no shared codes and no one left with a working key after they stop paying.
How the SpaceBloom x Kisi integration works
When an operator approves a member in SpaceBloom, that member gets Kisi access to the doors at their location. If the contract is canceled, paused or runs out, access is removed automatically, and every night SpaceBloom re-checks every member against their contract and removes any access that no longer applies. Members who book a shared kitchen get Kisi access to that door for the booked hours only, and open it with the Kisi app, the same way they open every other door.
Kisi stays the system of record. SpaceBloom manages access through its own Kisi groups (named SpaceBloom · <door>), while the operator keeps their locks, users and Kisi subscription. SpaceBloom adds no per-door fee for Kisi doors.
Getting started takes three steps:
- Connect. On the SpaceBloom Access tab, paste a Kisi API key created by an administrator of your Kisi organization.
- Map doors. Assign each Kisi lock to a SpaceBloom location. SpaceBloom creates the Kisi group for each lock and registers the event webhook.
- Approve members. Members request access from their portal and you approve them. Kisi then emails each member an invitation to the Kisi app.
Access control features and use cases
Feature | Benefit | Use case |
|---|
Contract-based access | Grants access when a member is approved and removes it when the contract is canceled or runs out | Operators renting space by the month |
Nightly access check | Re-checks every member each night and removes access that no longer applies | Making sure no one keeps a working key after they stop paying |
Kisi access for each booking | Gives access to a door for the booked hours only, ending with the booking | Shared kitchens that members book by the hour |
Unlock from the portal | Lets members open selected doors from the SpaceBloom portal on their phone, with every press logged by name | Interior doors, rather than street entrances |
Exit tracking | Records when people leave when a door has a reader on the inside | Doors with an inside reader (not a push-to-exit button) |
One door log | Brings Kisi unlock events into SpaceBloom’s door log and reports, named by member | Reviewing Kisi and portal unlocks in one place |
Existing user linking | Links members who already have a Kisi account instead of inviting them twice | Operators with members already in Kisi |

About SpaceBloom
SpaceBloom is a management platform for shared-use spaces: members and invites, contracts and invoicing through the operator’s own payment gateway, shared-kitchen booking, documents with e-signature, messaging, compliance tracking, accounting sync and reports. Each operator gets a branded member portal with one or more locations behind it. Plans are $99 per location plus $2 per member each month, with a 30-day free trial.
